Halloween Candy Bracket Game Printable: Vote Your Way to One Champion Candy

The Candy Debate Your Party Will Actually Settle

Every Halloween party eventually hits the same argument: which candy is really the best? Someone swears by peanut butter cups, someone else defends gummy bears to the death, and before long the whole room is involved. A Halloween candy bracket game turns that argument into the night’s main event — a proper head-to-head tournament where candies face off, guests vote, and only one is crowned champion.

This isn’t a jar-guessing game, and it isn’t a blind taste test. Nobody has to guess a number or eat something with a blindfold on. It’s pure voting: two candies enter a matchup, the crowd picks a winner, and the winner advances. By the end of the night, your party has an official answer, and you’ll be shocked how passionately people defend their picks.

How It Works

Pick 16 candies for the full bracket, or 8 if your group is small or short on time. Write the candies into the matchups below, print one bracket sheet per guest (or one big poster-size bracket for the wall), and hand out voting slips. For each matchup, everyone votes for one candy. Count the votes, advance the winner, and move to the next round. The final matchup decides the champion.

I like running the early rounds fast — one minute of voting per matchup, votes counted out loud — and slowing down for the semifinals and final, where people get to make their case before the vote. A 30-second speech for your candy is usually hilarious and occasionally persuasive.

Picking Your 16 Candies

The best brackets mix the obvious favorites with a few wildcards. Start with the classics your guests will recognize — chocolate peanut butter cups, chocolate bars, gummy bears, sour gummies, candy corn, lollipops, chocolate-covered caramels, and fruit chews. Then add a couple of oddballs: a licorice pick, a wax candy, or a retro candy most people forgot about. Wildcards lose early most of the time, but when one makes a surprise run, it’s the story of the night.

Seed the bracket so the two biggest favorites don’t meet in round one. Put your strongest picks at opposite ends — one in the Sweet Region, one in the Chocolate Region — so the final feels earned. And yes, candy corn deserves a spot even if half your guests claim to hate it. The candy corn debate alone will carry a whole round.

Running the Voting

For small groups, a show of hands works fine. For bigger parties, use the voting slips above and a jar per matchup, or a quick phone poll if everyone has their phone handy. Announce the vote totals for each matchup — “14 to 9!” — because the score is part of the drama. If a matchup ties, run a 30-second revote with only the tied candies on the ballot. If it ties again, the host breaks it, and the host should do so with maximum ceremony.

Keep the pace moving. The full 16-candy bracket takes about 30 to 45 minutes with speeches, or 15 minutes if you vote fast. If kids are playing, let them vote in every round — their picks are often the most unpredictable, and a kid-led upset is a great party memory.

Make It a Full Party Game

Hand out a small bowl of the champion candy at the end of the night, or give the guest whose preseason prediction bracket matched the final result a prize. Print a second blank bracket and let guests fill in their predicted champion before round one starts — the guest with the most correct picks wins. It costs nothing extra and doubles the engagement, because now everyone has a stake in every matchup.

You can also theme the regions however you like: chocolate vs fruity, classic vs new, or even store-bought vs homemade. The structure stays the same; only the candy lineup changes.
