Some of my favorite Halloween memories come from parking lots, not haunted houses. A row of decorated trunks, kids in costumes hopping from car to car, and one trunk that made the whole crowd stop and stare. That is the magic of a trunk or treat decorating contest, and it is easier to run than…
I love party games that need zero setup, and it doesn’t get simpler than this one. Grab one big pumpkin, a bathroom scale, and a stack of paper — and you’ve got a guessing game that’ll keep guests talking all night. Guess the Pumpkin Weight works at literally any Halloween gathering: kids’ classroom parties, adult…
Some party games fizzle after one round. The witch broom relay race isn’t one of them. I’ve watched grown adults — people in $80 costumes who swore they were “too tired to play” — sprint across a backyard with a broom between their legs, laughing too hard to steer straight. That’s why I put together…
A sack race is already one of the funniest things you can watch at a party — legs locked together, everyone hopping and flailing, half the racers on the grass within ten seconds. Now wrap the sacks in white fabric strips so the hoppers look like mummies, and you’ve got a Halloween party game that…
There’s a moment at every great Halloween party when someone does something so gloriously silly the whole room loses it. For me, that’s the pumpkin head balance relay: your friend, dead serious, creeping across the living room with a mini pumpkin wobbling on their head while everyone else is doubled over laughing. Here’s the idea:…
If your Halloween party needs something that burns off candy-fueled energy and gets everyone laughing, I’ve got the game. The pumpkin roll relay race needs almost no setup, works for all ages, and turns a pile of cheap pumpkins into the main event. Real pumpkins, rolled with a broom or stick around a cone-marked course…
Every October I hear the same thing from parents, teachers, and party hosts: “I need a game that’s cheap, takes five minutes to set up, and keeps a room full of sugared-up kids busy.” Pin the Bow on the Skeleton is my honest answer. It’s the Halloween cousin of Pin the Tail on the Donkey…
Some party games get giggles. This one gets full-on chaos — the good kind. The Halloween Costume Relay Race is one of those games where the dressing room is the racecourse: two teams, one shared costume trunk, and a sprint between cone markers where every runner has to get dressed and undressed before tagging the…
You know what’s better than regular hopscotch? Hopscotch that looks like a giant candy corn. I started drawing this on our driveway two Halloweens ago when my kids got bored with the plain chalk court, and honestly, the simple trick of coloring each square like candy corn — white, orange, yellow — turned an old-school…
Every Halloween party hits that moment: the candy’s half gone, the kids have sugar-fueled energy, the adults are standing around with their drinks, and somebody needs a game. Right now. No setup time, no expensive props. That’s exactly the gap Balloon Stomp fills — tie a balloon to everyone’s ankle, stomp everyone else’s, last balloon…
