Christmas Pictionary Printable: 50 Words to Draw and Guess
Pictionary is charades with a pencil, and at Christmas it is pure joy. Watching someone try to draw “reindeer” in 60 seconds — and watching their team confidently guess “moose,” “dog,” and “aunt Linda” before landing on it — is the kind of memory holiday gatherings are made of.
Below are 50 free printable-style Christmas pictionary words, sorted by difficulty, plus the rules, scoring twists, and setup tips you need for a smooth game night.

How to Play Christmas Pictionary
Split into two teams. One player draws a word card and sketches it on paper or a whiteboard — no letters, no numbers, no speaking. Their team has 60 seconds to guess the word. A correct guess earns one point, and the drawing team keeps going until time runs out or they pass. Teams take turns drawing.
You need very little: paper or a whiteboard, markers or pencils, a timer, and the word lists below. Print the lists, cut them into slips, and sort them into piles by difficulty.

Scoring Ideas
Classic scoring is one point per correct guess, first team to 20 wins. For a faster game, play to 15. For a challenge, award two points for hard words and one for easy ones. A favorite twist is “all play”: on the last card of each round, both teams draw at the same time and the first team to guess wins the point. It ends the game with a bang.
Another fun variation is “draw with your eyes closed” for one round per game. The results are gloriously unrecognizable, and everyone gets a turn being terrible at drawing, which levels the playing field beautifully.
Tips for Great Drawings (Even If You Can’t Draw)
Start with the biggest, simplest shape first: a triangle for a tree, a circle for a snowman, a rectangle for a gift. Add one detail at a time and watch your team’s guesses to see which direction to take the drawing. Draw fast and big — small careful sketches waste the clock. And remember: nobody is judging your art. The worse the drawing, the funnier the game.
Setting Up for Different Groups
For kids, use only the easy list and drop the timer. For classrooms, draw on the board so the whole class can play together. For office parties, mix medium and hard words and let teams pick their artist each round. For video calls, share your screen with a digital whiteboard and let everyone guess in the chat.
